I originally
gained a degree in weaving followed by a post grad in
teacher training. My lust for travelling took me to Nigeria where
I
remained for 12 years teaching out there. It was here my interest
in
clay was ignited by Nigerain pottery and a Mr Obu my teacher.
On returning to St Andrews and with a few more courses in pottery
under
my belt I decided to start my own studio at home and sell handmade
products.
My work ranges from an assortment of hand thrown
vessels to hand made
objects in clay. I have a range of glazes and hand painted items.
Recently I have branched out into the jewellery market by making
various
items such as earings, pendants and rings. I also have a range of
clay
door plaques for houses, bedrooms, garages gardens or whatever the
client would like.
Each item is individual, hand made from a piece
of clay, fired, glazed
and fired again. Individual products made with love and care. A
personal
gift for a special person.
I am interested in hearing from anyone who would
like something made
but has not yet found it in any outlet, clay is a very versatile
medium
to work with. |
